Claude can build dashboards that update themselves now, & it's one of the most useful upgrades I've seen in a long time.

Before, you handed it a CSV file & got a snapshot. Now it pulls straight from your apps, so you could see your real inbox, Slack, & calendar on one page.

Here's a version you could build today.

How We Used Claude’s Live Dashboards To Prep For A Week Off

Claude's New Live Dashboards Are Amazing

A project lead is out all next week. Instead of writing a long handoff email, she asks Claude for one live page showing unanswered emails, Slack messages waiting on a reply, & her meetings, then sends her teammate the link.

Why Live Dashboards Are So Useful

Claude used to turn a CSV file into a dashboard that never changed. Now the page stays connected to your apps & updates on its own.

✅ Pulls your real data from the apps you connect, with nothing to upload
✅ Updates by itself, so you never work from an old snapshot
✅ Shows the exact boxes you ask for, not what each app decides to show you
✅ Shares through a link you can keep private or make public
✅ Matches your brand colors, in light or dark mode

How We Did It

Here's how we built a live 'who's waiting on me' page. If people need answers from you across email, chat, & meetings, one page could track all of it.

1. Connect the apps you want on the page

In Claude, click 'Customize', then choose 'Connectors'. (Skip 'Plugins', that's something different.) Find Gmail, press the plus sign, & log in to it. Repeat for Slack & Google Calendar.

That's the whole connection, no code needed. The list runs to hundreds of apps, so yours is likely on it.

2. Start a chat with your strongest model

Open a new chat, pick the best model available, & turn on extra thinking. It gives you the best page possible.

3. Tell Claude what you want to see

Paste a short prompt that names the apps & lists the boxes you want:

'Build me a live dashboard from Gmail called Inbox Command Center. Show how many threads are waiting on my reply with the oldest ones first, my top senders this month, emails received per day for the last 30 days, and my average reply time.'

You decide what shows up, not the app. Want a box in a certain spot? Say so.

4. Check it against the real thing

Compare a few items on the page with your actual inbox & Slack. Claude does the pulling, but you're the one who knows what's right. Once it looks good, one glance replaces checking three apps, & nothing waiting on a reply slips through.

5. Adjust the look & layout

Ask Claude to add a box, move one, or remove one. You could also switch to light or dark mode, or match your brand colors. Each change is just a sentence.

6. Share the link

Press 'Share' at the top of the page. Keep the link private for teammates, or make it public. This page shows real email & Slack details, so private is the safer pick.

Your teammate sees what's waiting without a handoff meeting, & the page keeps updating while you're away.

Use Cases

Same steps, different apps. A few ideas:

Finance: Pull QuickBooks into one page showing cash in the bank, runway, & where the money goes

Founders: Track Stripe revenue, new customers, & churn in the boxes you pick

Executive Support: Use Google Calendar to show hours lost to meetings & focus time left

Marketing: Compare your AI search visibility against competitors with a tool like Ahrefs

Operations: Combine Stripe, QuickBooks, Gmail, Calendar, & Slack into one morning page

Bonus Tips

Build a command center: After you've made a few pages, open a new chat & ask for one command center with a side panel listing every dashboard. Claude's memory means you don't have to list them, & you could build different ones for different teams.

Add a sample-data switch before you share: Ask for a button that swaps in sample numbers or blurs them, so you could demo the page without showing private figures.

Reuse one app for several pages: One connection can power more than one view. With Stripe, e.g., you could build a revenue page & a separate churn page, then combine them later.
